» A&E's Paranormal State Summary

Ryan Buell is just an ordinary college kid. He attends classes at Penn State University, deals with schedules, school-work, parties, girls, etc. But he is also a member of one of the first university sanctioned paranormal research groups in the country, The Paranormal Research Society (PRS).

Each week, outside parties ranging from The Catholic Church to ordinary families contact the PRS to request help in dealing with a terrifying real-life mystery often involving poltergeists, hauntings and the darkest areas of the unknown. With hronicled case files that detail paranormal activity and research the cases to determine if they are indeed in the realm of the paranormal.

The series airs on A&E but the episodes will also air on the Biography Channel beginning December 16, 2007.

I didnt like the show much. The log he does reminds me of star trek....I am trying to see more to see if i had missed something about the show. I will try and watch it again to see if the new shows will be different.

I think they are Social Workers, disguised as paranormal Investigators. Any rituals or ceramonies are dramatised to trigger a placebo effect.

I like the way they analyze everything and use the church. I do think of Capt. Kurk ... "Capt's. Log star date" ....lol

Other than that it is a good show and they help the families in anyway they can.

It's watchable, but overly dramatic and way too hokey for me. I do like that they encourage people to seek counseling and try to help them that way.

Definitely prefer the approach over GH. No pretense of science going on here. They just go in taking things at face value. Listen to what the people involved are dealing with and try to help them resolve whatever problems are arising from the phenomena that they're encountering. The extra stuff they're throwing in there about Ryan and his stalker demon seems contrived and unnecessary. Drop it. Otherwise, very entertaining and a step in the right direction, I think.
